Todd Jennings, MA
Advanced Doctoral
Psychology Trainee
Todd is a fourth-year clinical psychology Ph.D. student at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas working under the supervision of Dr. Jordan Soper at the Center for Sexual Health and Wellness. Consistent with the orientation of his Ph.D. program, Todd identifies as both a psychological practitioner and scientist. Thus, his approach to therapy emphasizes using evidence-based therapeutic interventions that are tailored to a patient's unique presenting sexual concerns and needs. In particular, he uses cognitive-behavior therapy, interpersonal process therapy, and integrative behavioral couples therapy to help both individuals and couples achieve greater sexual health and overall well-being. Additionally, given the sensitive nature of sexual and mental health concerns, Todd strives to create a warm and non-judgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore various issues, such as intimacy concerns, sexual dysfunction, communication barriers, and difficult relationship dynamics.
Todd has clinical experience working in the VA system with Veterans recovering from PTSD, anxiety-related disorders, and addictions during which time he observed significantly high levels of sexual and relational difficulties among this population. Additionally, Todd has worked in community-based clinical settings with individuals who struggle with sexual trauma and forming healthy relationships.
In his doctoral program, Todd has published multiple research papers on sexual and mental health related topics, including compulsive sexual behavior, sexual behavior involving risk for sexually transmitted infections, sexual diversity involving LGBTQ+ populations, as well as sexual health and functioning related to individual anxiety, depression, and trauma. Beyond his academic work, Todd is dedicated to continuous learning and professional growth. He actively seeks out opportunities to expand his knowledge of sex therapy and stays current with advancements in the field.
