Dr. Jordan Soper is a Licensed Psychologist, Owner of The Center for Sexual Health and Wellness, Board Certified in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology, and AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. She has over 13 years of advanced training, education, and clinical experience in the field of mental health. Dr. Soper’s areas of expertise include sexual health and functioning disorders, anxiety, and trauma. She began her training in sex therapy during graduate school where she was interested in the intersection between trauma and sexual functioning. Dr. Soper spent a number of years in the VA system working with Veterans recovering from PTSD and other anxiety-related disorders during which time she observed significantly high levels of sexual difficulties of those with anxiety disorders. Dr. Soper began the Women’s Health Clinic internship rotation at the Henfer VA Medical Center in Salisbury, NC where she was able to work with female Veterans experiencing various sexual and gynecological difficulties. Taking this passion to her fellowship, Dr. Soper established a number of sexual health and functioning groups at the VA Puget Sound Health Care System, American Lake Division in Tacoma, WA focused on addressing co-morbid PTSD and sexual functioning disorders. Dr. Soper returned to her home in Southern Nevada in 2016 and began her journey of changing the landscape of mental and sexual health in Nevada. She continues to regularly attend conferences, workshops, and specialized trainings to find more and better ways to help her patients. She is a Licensed Psychologist in both Washington and Nevada as well as well as an approved interjurisdiction telepsychology provider to the many states of the Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT). With a goal of providing patients with the highest quality specialty care, she is board certified in Behavioral and Cognitive Psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology and is an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist with a focus on the interconnection between anxiety and sexual functioning.She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the Nevada Psychological Association, the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists, Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies, and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies.
